Washburn No. 8 in South Central Region rankings

The Washburn Lady Blues were No. 8 in the first South Central Regional Rankings released by the NCAA Wednesday. Three automatic qualifiers (MIAA, Lone Star and Heartland Conference champions) and five at-large teams will advance to the South Central Region tournament March 12-15 at a site to be determined.
Washburn improved to 14-2 and 5-2 in the MIAA with a 63-41 win at Southwest Baptist Tuesday night. The Lady Blues host Missouri Southern 5:30 pm. Saturday in Lee Arena.
