Odum
named assistant coach

Washburn University head womenÕs basketball coach Ron McHenry has
announced that Dustin Odum has been promoted to full-time assistant
after spending the past season as a restricted earnings coach. Odum
spent the past season as an assistant for the Lady Blues, helping
the team to a 30-4 record.
The Lady Blues won the MIAA regular season and Sonic MIAA Tournament
titles and won the South Central Regional to advance to the Elite
Eight. Odum assisted heavily with recruiting and practice preparation
for the team last season. He spent one season as the head girls
coach Wamego High in 2001-02. Before coaching at Wamego, Odum was
a graduate assistant at Emporia State University for two seasons.
He was also an assistant coach at Northern Heights in Allen, Kan.,
and got his first experience in coaching at Nemaha Valley High School,
where he served as head freshman coach for one season in 1995-96.
Odum earned a bachelorÕs of science in education at Emporia State
in 1999. He is a native of Seneca, Kan., where he graduated from
Nemaha Valley High in 1994.
