Blues shine in McHenry's debut

Washburn Lady Blues head coach Ron McHenry made his coaching
debut a good one, as the Lady Blues topped Bethany 73-59 in Lee Arena
Saturday night.
After Amy Scardina's 3-pointer gave Bethany a 22-18 lead
with 4:26 left in the first half, the Lady Blues errupted for a 11-0
run to end the half. Sharina Watkins capped the scoring with a jumper
with 10 seconds to go to give WU a 29-22 halftime lead.
Washburn kept it going to open the second half. Bethany
McGraw opened with five of the first seven points in the half, including
a 3-pointer from the wing.
Jodi Rausch came on strong by scoring 14 of her team-high
20 points in the second half, while Kristy Chapman scored a career-high
16 points off the bench. Rausch finished the game 7 of 8 from the field
and 8 of 8 from the foul line.
The Lady Blues are back in action Thankgiving night in
Cancun, Mexico 3:30 against Hillsdale College. You can hear all the
