Lady Blues fall in exhibition opener

The Washburn Lady Blues opened up their 2000-2001 season with a 90-52 exhibition loss to KSC-Szekszard Hungary Thursday night in Lee Arena.

Washburn contended in the first half, but KSC ran away offensively with a 54-26 second half margin to make the game a blowout in the second half.

Erin Younkin led the Lady Blues with 11 points, while Crystal Walker added eight in the loss. The team is back in action 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in their official season opener against Bethany College in Lee Arena.
