The Washburn Lady Blues split a pair of games south of the border over Thanksgiving weekend as they fell to Hillsdale College 61-59 and topped Millersville 70-67.

On Thanksgiving, the Lady Blues were 3-14 from the free throw line and 0-6 from behind the 3-point line en route to the loss. Jodi Rausch had 15 points. Thorlan Buchanan had 12 points and Kristy Chapman had 10. Jovanae St.Cyr had 12 rebounds.

Against Millersville, the Lady Blues survived despite 30 turnovers and 3 of 13 from the charity stripe in the first half, but when the game was on the line, the Lady Blues turned it around from the line in the second half hitting 11 of 15 attempts. The Lady Blues also crashed the boards outrebounding Millersville 43 to 33. Chapman led the Lady Blues for the third straight game with 16 points. St. Cyr had 14, Buchanan scored 12 and Jennifer Butcher scored 11 and pulled down 13 reboudns.

Washburn will be in action on Wednesday against Fort Hays State with a 5:30 tip.
