The Washburn Lady Blues couldn't get the ball bouncing
their way, falling 83-46 to a hot-shooting Missouri Western team in
Lee Arena Saturday night.
The Griffons, ranked No. 21 in the WBCA National Poll,
shot 14 of 22 (63.6%) in the first half to take a 47-31 lead.
Washburn opened with the first three points of the second
half to pull within 13, before Missouri Western errupted.
Krista Small hit two 3-pointers for the Griffons, as Washburn
couldn't muster more than four second half field goals and trailed 64-46
with 7:05 left.
The Griffons finished with a 19-0 run for the final margin,
while Washburn finished with only 15 second half points.
Kristy Chapman scored 15 points, while Crystal Walker
added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Washburn is back in action 5:30 Wednesday night at Northwest
Missouri State.
