The Washburn Lady Blues fell 69-57 to the Pittsburg State Gorillas in Lee Arena Saturday night.

Washburn started strong, taking a 10-6 lead early in the ballgame before Pitt State responded.

The Gorillas went on a 14-4 run and took a 20-14 lead on Brianna Keeton's layup with eight minutes left in the opening half.

The Gorillas staved off several Washburn runs in the second half, while the Lady Blues could get no closer than 48-46 in the second half en route to their 10th loss in 11 games against the Gorillas.

Crystal Walker had a career-high 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Kristy Chapman led the way with 18 points.

Washburn is back in action Wednesday night 5:30 at Warrensburg, Mo. to take on nationall-ranked Central Missouri State.
