The Washburn Lady Blues fell to 0-2 in MIAA play with
a 70-54 loss to Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Mo.
The Lady Blues (6-4, 0-2) were tied at the half at 36,
but went cold from the field shooting 8 of 32 in the second half. The
Lady Blues were within five points at 58-53, but only could muster one
more point in the final 5:50 as the Lady Bearcats outscored Washburn
12-1 in that time-span.
Jodi Rausch and Jennifer Butcher paced the Lady Blues'
attack with 13 points. Kristy Chapman scored 11 and Jovanae St. Cyr
pulled down 10 rebounds.
The Lady Blues will be back in action on Monday, Jan.
8 against Truman State (6-4, 1-1) starting at 5:30 in Lee Arena.
