The Washburn Lady Blues snapped a three game losing streak
to the Truman State Bulldogs in Kirksville with a 63-56 win.
The Lady Blues (11-9, 5-7) started off slow as they would
trail by as many as 12 in the first half, but a 24-9 run to close out
the half lifted the Lady Blues to a 29-24 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Lady Blues would never trail en
route to the seven-point win.
Kristy Chapman led the Lady Blues with 19 points. Linsey
Moddlemog scored a career high 13 points hitting all three of her three-point
attempts (the first three of her WU career). Jennifer Butcher recorded
her 12th double-double of her career and the third of the season with
10 points and a career-high tying 14 rebounds.
The Lady Blues travel to Emporia to take on Emporia State
on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
