squads receive high rankings in region poll

The Washburn Lady Blues were ranked first in the initial
NCAA Division II South Central Region poll, released by the NCAA Wednesday
afternoon. Four other MIAA schools were in the top 10, including defending
MIAA champion Missouri Western at No. 4.
The Ichabods were No. 2 in the regional poll, trailing
only Lone Star ConferenceÕs Tarleton State. Four other MIAA teams were
in the poll.
Eight teams from the regions will advance to the South
Central Region tournaments March 14-17 at a site to be determined. The
complete NCAA Division II basketball tournament fields will be announced
March 9.
