KIRKSVILLE, MO - The Washburn Lady Blues lost a heartbreaker to Truman State 55-53 on a buzzer-beater Saturday in Kirksville. With the loss the Lady Blues fall to 7-3 and 0-2 in the MIAA.

After Crystal Walker tied the game at 53 on a pair of free throws, Truman's Robyn Gerber hit a nine-foot jumper in the lane with under a second left to clinch the game.
The Lady Blues led at the break 29-27 behind Carissa Goeglein's nine points and four rebounds.

In the second half, Washburn would open a lead as many as eight points with 8:29 left, but over the next five minutes the Bulldogs would go on a 11-2 to cut the Lady Blues' lead to one at 3:05.

The teams would then trade baskets and Truman would take the lead at 52-51 with 27 seconds remaining. Truman would make 1 of 2 free throw attempts after a WU foul. Walker would then tie the game leading to the winning jumper by Gerber.

The Lady Blues were led by Goeglein's 15 points.

Up next for the Lady Blues are the Lady Lions from Missouri Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Monday night in Lee Arena.
