Lady
Blues ink B&B Baileyville guard
Nov. 16, 2001
Washburn Lady Blues head basketball coach Ron McHenry
has announced the signing of B&B Baileyville guard Jill Heiman to a
national letter of intent Friday morning.
Heiman averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists
and two steals a game for B&B Baileyville to earn all-league and second
team all-state Class 1A honors last season as a junior. She helped the
Falcons to a 1A state title her freshman year and a second place finish
her sophomore season.
ñJill has a great deal of passion for the game of basketball;
she is the type of player who will do what it takes to win a game,î
said McHenry. ñJill has played all five positions in high school and
is a super athlete who has a feel for the game. She comes from a great
basketball program that has had a lot of success.î
Heiman has also participated in volleyball and track
at B&B, earning first team all-league and honorable mention all-state
honors in volleyball her junior season.
Heiman becomes the third player to sign during the early
period for Washburn after (Topeka) Seaman HighÍs Rebekah Mueller and
OsborneÍs April Roadhouse signed a letters of intent earlier in the
week for the Lady Blues.
