The Washburn women's basketball team was ranked No. 2 in the Division II Bulletin Preseason Top 25 Poll, which was released by the DII Bulletin.

The Lady Blues, which won the school's first-ever NCAA title with a 35-2 record and won a third straight MIAA title in 2004-05, return three starters from last year's squad.

Senior guard Jennifer Harris was named to the DII Bulletin's Super 16 Selections, which is the Bulletin's Preseason All-American team.

Drury, which had the Preseason Player of the Year with senior forward Amanda Newton, was the poll's top pick.
