PITTSBURG - Jennifer Harris had 22 first half points and finished the night with 32 as the No. 1 Lady Blues defeated Pittsburg State 95-65 Wednesday night. Washburn won its 42nd straight game to tie the second longest streak in NCAA II history and improved to 23-0 (12-0 MIAA). The Lady Blues will play at Southwest Baptist Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in Bolivar, Mo.

Washburn trailed early at 2-0 as the Gorillas took the opening tap and scored, but from that point on, it was all Washburn as they rolled to a 15-point lead via a 19-2 run over the next 3:45. The Gorillas rallied and cut the lead back to five at 22-17 and eventually to two at 32-30 with 3:29 left, but would not get any closer the rest of the half as the Lady Blues ripped off a 12-2 run to end the half taking a 44-32 lead into the break.

In the second half, Washburn continued their hot shooting from the first half (55.6 percent) and shot 55.9 percent in the second half hitting 19 of 34 shots rolling to the 30-point win. The Gorillas sliced the lead to nine on two separate occasions, but Washburn led by double digits the remainder of the game pushing the lead to 30 as time expired.

Harris was 8 for 12 in the first half, making 4 of 5 3-pointers. She finished the night 12 for 19 and 5 for 7 from 3-point range. Brooke Ubelaker had 16 points with 14 of them coming in the second half with 4 of 6 shooting. April Roadhouse had a career-high 10 assists and finished with 11 points. It was her first double double of her Washburn career.

Lady Blues coach Ron McHenry won his 150th game on the Washburn bench lifting his career coaching record to 150-32.
