Lady Blues cruise to win at Northwest Missouri

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The No. 1 ranked Washburn Lady Blues won their 45th straight game topping Northwest Missouri 82-61 in Bearcat Arena. The Lady Blues will wrap up the regular season this Saturday in Warrensburg, Mo., when they take on Central Missouri State at 1:30 p.m.
Washburn led 37-21 despite being out shot by the Bearcats in the first half 40 to 36 percent, but Washburn made the difference up on the boards in the opening period out rebounding Northwest 25 to 13 creating 11 second chance points.
In the second half, Washburn built as large as 25 points cruising to the 21 point win.
Washburn was led by Brooke Ubelaker who scored 12 of her game-high 23 points in the first half. She was 8 of 11 from the field and 6 of 7 from 3-point range. Also in double figures were Jennifer Harris with 12 points and April Roadhouse and Jessica Aebi each had 10. Roadhouse led the Lady Blues with eight rebounds, which was a game-high.
Washburn was 13 of 28 from 3-point range, setting a new high-water mark for the season. The Lady Blues bench out scored the Bearcat bench 27 to 13 as Washburn dominated on the boards 44 to 31, including 18 offensive rebounds.
