Lady Blues season ends in sweet 16 loss to Texas A&M-Commerce

ST. JOSPEH, Mo. – The Washburn Lady Blues season came to an end with a 71-70 loss to Texas A&M-Commerce Monday in the MWSU Fieldhouse. The Lady Blues finish the season with a 29-4 overall record.
After falling behind by 13 in the second half, Washburn rallied in the second half going on a 21-8 to open the second half to knot score at 51 on a traditional three-point play with 9:30 remaining. Washburn would push the lead to 61-56 on a 3-pointer by Brooke Ubelaker. However the Lions would comeback to tie the score at 63 with and take the lead for good at 64-63.
Washburn was led by Ubelaker, who made her MIAA record 134^th start, with 26 points on 9 of 14 from the field and 5 of 10 from behind the arc. Amanda Holmes and Corkey Stiger each had 12 points.
The four, four-year seniors of Cindy Keeley, Brooke Ubelaker, Megan Sullivan and Holly Henrichs, finished with a career record of 122-12. They also helped WU claim the 2005 National Championship, three MIAA regular season championships, three MIAA postseason championships, three NCAA Regional Finals and one regional championship.
