Blues open 1999-2000 season with 5-4 victory over Baker University

The Washburn Lady Blues tennis team opened their 1999-2000 season with
an 5-4 victory over Baker University Wednesday afternoon.
Washburn opened the match by picking up victories at Nos.
1 and 2 doubles before dropping the No. 3 doubles match due to forfeit.
They won three of six singles matches, while also having to forfeit the
No. 6 singles spot.
Next up for the Lady Blues is the MIAA Team Tennis Invitational
in St. Joseph, Mo. on Sept. 11-12. The mens team will also be in
action at the MIAA Team Tennis Invite.
