Senior Becky Hanish appropriately stole the show on Senior Night in Washburn's 3-2 (11-15, 15-8, 8-15, 15-11, 15-12) victory over Northwest Missouri State Wednesday night in Lee Arena.

Hanish, who has had a stellar four-year career for the Lady Blues, clinched the victory in the fifth game with her 21st and 22nd kills of the match. The two points gave Washburn the victory and improved the team's mark to 23-12 (8-7 MIAA).

Washburn came out and dropped two of the first three games before rallying in the fourth game. The Lady Blues attacked the net and had several of their 12 blocks in the game to force a deciding rally game.

Fellow senior Shera Karasiak led the way defensively, collecting 15 digs in the victory. Jill Gassen also added 20 kills and five block assists.

Washburn now will travel to Bolivar, Mo. for a 7 p.m. match with Southwest Baptist on Friday. The Lady Blues can clinch their first winning MIAA mark since 1997 and a fourth place finish in the conference with a victory.
