 Cowhick ends season with career, single-season digs records
Junior libero Erica Cowhick’s first dig of the NCAA tournament set the school’s career record. She came into the tournament tied with Shanna Haslett, a Lady Blue from 1988-1990 who compiled 1,627 digs. Cowhick ended her third year as the school’s career leader in digs (1,642) and digs per game (5.49) and her 6.93 digs per game this year shattered her record of 5.58 she set last year.  Two all-state players join Lady Blues volleyball team for 2007 fall season

Head coach Chris Herron announced Wednesday that two all-state players have signed national letters of intent to attend Washburn and play volleyball this fall. Kansas native Molly Smith, a second team all-state libero from Overland Park’s St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and Anna Simpson-Mills, a first team all-state hitter from Littleton High School in Littleton, Colorado, increase Herron’s recruiting class to four after signing a pair in the November early period.
