DELAND, Fla.- The Washburn golf team fired a 303 to finish in 12th place Saturday at 1235 (323-306-303-303) at the NCAA Division II National Tournament at Victoria Hills Golf Club. The finish was the best for the Ichabods in school history (16th in 2003 was previous best) after opening the tournament in 18th place. Sophomore Matt Warnock (Liberty, Mo.) led Washburn with a 298 (+10) total after shooting a 73 to finish in 12th place individually. Ichabods win Central Region Golf title (May 5)
UNION, Ky. - The Washburn golf team fired a 10-over par 294 Wednesday for a tournament total of 910 to win the Central Region Golf Tournament at Lassing Point Golf Club (Par 71). The Ichabods topped the field by 15 strokes to defend their title from 2003. With the title the Ichabods advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament May 12-15 at Victoria Hills Golf Club in Deland, Fla. The Ichabods finished 16th in the 2003 National Tournament. Sophomore Matt Warnock (Liberty, Mo.) carded 18 pars to shoot a 71 and tie for first individually at 221 (+8). Warnock tied with Missouri Western’s Brice Garnett for the title after winning the regional title in 2003. Junior Matt Johnston (Grantville, Kan.) fired the best round of the tournament at 3-under 68 to finish third at 222. Junior Paul Resner (Emporia, Kan.) shot a 6-over 77 to finish ninth at 228. Junior Chris McGown (Mound City, Kan.) finished tied for 27th at 242, while Garrett Donovan (Rossville, Kan.) finished tied for 31st at 245.

Ichabods two seed at regional (April 23)
The Washburn Ichabod golf team clinched a berth into the Central Super Region Men’s Golf Tournament May 3-5 at Lassing Point Golf Club in Union, Ky. The Ichabods won the 2003 Central Regional championship by 27 shots at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar, Mo.
Four Ichabod golfers named all-MIAA (April 21)
Overland Park, Kan. - The two-time MIAA golf champion Washburn Ichabods placed four players on the 2003-04 All-MIAA golf team. The team, which is selected on a point system determined by the players finish at the five MIAA-sanctioned events. Garrett Donovan, Matt Johnston, Chris McGown and Matt Warnock were all named to the team. Donovan was a repeat pick after earning all-conference honors as a junior. Head coach Doug Hamilton was named MIAA Coach of the Year for the second season after leading the Ichabods to their second straight title after losing three All-MIAA players from a year ago.
Ichabod golfers capture second straight MIAA Title (April 20)
Lawrence, Kan. - The Washburn Ichabods won their second straight MIAA Championship after posting a first place finish at the MIAA Tournament at Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence, Kan. The Ichabods bested Central Missouri by nine strokes to take the team title. The Ichabods shot an 884 for the four-round event and the Mules shot an 895. Missouri Western finished third with a 908, followed by Missouri Southern at 910, Truman State at 917, Southwest Baptist at 939 and Pittsburg State was seventh with a 976. Ichabods place fifth at Cenral Region Invite (April 12)
LEAWOOD, Kan. - The Washburn golf team finished fifth at the Central Region Invitational at Ironhorse Golf Course Tuesday. Garrett Donovan finished tied for ninth at 153 (75-78) individually to lead WU. Washburn, which is the defending MIAA champion, heads to the MIAA tournament Monday at Alvamar Golf Course. The Ichabods trail Missouri Southern by 2.5 points in the MIAA standings.
Ichabod golfers win MWSC Invite (April 6)
St. Joseph, Mo. - The Washburn golf team, in third after the first day of the Missouri Western Invitational, came back to win the MIAA event and moved with 2.5 points of Missouri Southern in the MIAA standings with only the MIAA Championships at Alvamar on April 19-20 in Lawrence. The points for that tournament are doubled meaning the Ichabods need to finish two places ahead of the Lions to win their second straight conference title. Warrensburg, Mo. - The Washburn golf team fired a 883 (+31) to take second at the CMSU Heart of America Golf Classic Tuesday afternoon at Keth Memorial GC. Matt Johnston took second individually with a 217 (+4). Johnston lost a playoff to Truman State's Austin George for the individual title. Ichabod golfers finish fourth at ECU Classic (March 23)
ADA, Okla. - The Washburn golf team (310-297-313) finished in fourth place at 56-over 920 after day one at the ECU Oak Hills Spring Classic Tuesday at Oak Hills C.C. JOPLIN, Mo. - The Washburn Ichabod golf team finished
in a tie for fourth at the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational.
The Ichabods were led by Matt Johnston who tied for ninth. Johnston
shot a 5-over par 147. Matt Warnock and Garrett Donovon tied for
14th with a two-day total of 148. After shooting an 80 on day one,
Warnock rebounded to shoot a tournament-low 68 on day two.Results

DETROIT LAKES, MINN. - The Ichabod golf team finished
three shots off the pace at the Central Regional Fall Invitational
finishing behind Truman State and Missouri Western who tied for
first. The Ichabods were led by Chris McGown who sho a 1-over 145,
which placed him in a tie for second. Garrett Donovan was sixth

KIRKSVILLE, MO - The Washburn golf team finished thir
at the MIAA-opening event of the year. Garrett Donovon finished
in a four-way tie for first place, but after a scorecard playoff,
he was placed in third.The Ichabods led the classic after day one
shooting a 290, two strokes ahead of Central Missouri. The Ichabods
shot a 308 on day two finishing with a 598 team score, 15 behind
Central Missouri who won the event and onne stroke behind Missouri

the stretch and never recovered in the final round of the NCAA Division
II Golf Championship at Crosswater Golf Club Friday. The Ichabods

Invitational (April 21)
TOPEKA - Both the Ichabods and senior Derek Dultmeier won titles
at the Washburn Invitational. The Ichabods won by 15 strokes over
Missouri Western shooting a two-day total of 601. Dultmeier and
teammate Cam Hubbard each shot a 2-over 73 after carding 76's in
the first round. Dultmeier won the individual title on the third
playoff hole with Hubbard. Up next for the Ichabods is the MIAA
Golf Championships which will be held April 28-29 at Alvamar County
