Lady Blues add two to volleyball squad
(April 21) Washburn volleyball head coach Chris Herron announced the addition of two new players that will join the Washburn volleyball team. Stephanie Nitz from Moline High School in Moline, Ill. and Bobi Riley from Lawrence High have signed volleyball letters of intent for the Lady Blues. Lady Blues ink six in early signing period
(Dec. 15) Washburn volleyball head coach Chris Herron announced the addition of six new players that will join the Washburn volleyball team. Joanna Alfers from Axtell High, Stephanie Holub from Blue Valley West, Kelli Peterson of Shawnee Mission Northwest and Carolyn Raines of Lawrence High will all will join the Lady Blues as freshman next fall. Lady Blues finish No. 16 in final AVCA Poll
(Dec. 7) The Washburn Lady Blues volleyball team was No. 16 in the final AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll, which was released Tuesday. The No. 16 ranking is the best final mark to finish a season in school history. The Lady Blues were as high as No. 15 during the season.

Lady Blues volleyball team places four on MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll
(Dec. 3) Overland Park, Kan. - The Washburn Lady Blues Volleyball team, just off their 29-7 season and NCAA Tournament appearance, placed four members on the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. They were Emily Foster, Wendy Kobbeman, Dani McHenry and Valerie Peterson. To be eligible, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in athletic eligibility and have a 3.0 GPA, while completing at least two semesters of attendance.

Sackman, a 5-foot-10 sophomore from Blue Springs, Mo., hit .311 (18 kills, 4 errors, 45 attempts) and averaged 10.54 assists, 2.35 points, 0.54 blocks and 2.00 digs to help the Lady Blues to their best start in school history (8-0) with four wins at the Central Arkansas Invitational. KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Washburn volleyball team opened with two wins in the Rockhurst Invitational Friday. The Lady Blues topped Cameron 30-20, 27-30, 33-31, 30-19 and followed with a 30-19, 25-30, 30-20, 30-18 victory over Regis.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Washburn volleyball team will open the 2004 season at the Rockhurst Invitational Friday and Saturday. Washburn will face Cameron in the season opener 3 p.m. Friday at the Mason-Halpin Fieldhouse.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Washburn Lady Blues were picked fourth in the MIAA Coaches Poll that was released today. The Lady Blues will open the season on Fri. Aug. 27th against Cameron University at the Rockhurst Invitational Tournament.

Washburn volleyball head coach Chris Herron announced the addition of five players that will join the Washburn volleyball team for the 2004 season. Anna Byers from Beattie, Kan., Becky Kipper from Spokane, Mo., Monica Miesner from Florissant, Mo., Ashley Reider from Lansing, Kan. and Jamie Sleichter from Carbondale, Kan. will be on the Washburn volleyball roster next fall.
